Understanding and Increasing Student Retention

Colleges and Universities have long struggled with students dropping out before finishing their degrees. Only 56% of students who entered postsecondary education finished within 6 years. Assuming a retention rate of 90%, 34% above the national average, the 10% of dropouts would cost a school of 2000 about $10,000,000 a year ($50,000 a year tuition).
